Brake Fluid: Service and Repair

Always clean the master cylinder filler caps before checking fluid level. If not cleaned, dirt from the caps could enter the fluid.

Correct fluid level is to the bottom of the ring indicators on the reservoir. If necessary, add fluid to correct the level. With disc brake equipped vehicles, fluid level in the front brake reservoir will decrease slightly in proportion to normal lining wear.
