Brake Lamp Switch Circuit

Tests 3 Through 6:

Symptom:
BRAKE LAMP SWITCH CIRCUIT

When Monitored and Set Condition:
BRAKE LAMP SWITCH CIRCUIT - EBC 2
When Monitored:
Ignition on.

Set Condition:
Brake switch applied starting at initial ignition, and remaining applied until 10 seconds has elapsed with the vehicle speed above 59 km/h (37 mph).

BRAKE LAMP SWITCH CIRCUIT - EBC 325
When Monitored:
Ignition on.

Set Condition:
1. Vehicle speed greater than 24 km/h (15 mph) and the brake pedal has not been released since ignition was turned on. OR
2. ABS enabled for at least one second with brake switch released and having no history of ever having been applied since ignition was first turned on.

POSSIBLE CAUSES
BRAKE LAMP SWITCH MISADJUSTED
BRAKE LAMP SWITCH SENSE CIRCUIT OPEN
BRAKE LAMP SWITCH GROUND CIRCUIT OPEN
BRAKE LAMP SWITCH SENSE CIRCUIT SHORT TO GROUND
BRAKE LAMP SWITCH DEFECTIVE
BRAKE LAMP SWITCH SENSE CIRCUIT SHORT TO VOLTAGE
CAB DEFECTIVE
