Verification Test VER-2A

VERIFICATION TEST VER-2A

Applicability - All

1. If PCM has been changed and correct VIN and mileage have not been programmed, a DTC will be set in ABS and Airbag modules.

2. For ABS and Air Bag systems: Enter correct VIN and Mileage in PCM. Erase codes in ABS and Airbag modules.

3. Inspect the vehicle to ensure that all engine components are connected. Reassemble and reconnect all components as necessary.

4. If this verification procedure is being performed after an OBD II trouble code test, perform VER-5A. For all other trouble codes, continue with this verification.

5. For previously read trouble codes that have not been dealt with, return to Symptom List and follow the path specified; otherwise continue.

6. If the PCM has not been changed: Connect the DRB to the PCM Data Link Connector and erase trouble codes. With the DRB, reset all values in the adaptive memory. Disconnect the DRB.

7. Ensure no trouble code remains by doing the following:

8. If test is for an A/C Relay Control Circuit Code, drive the vehicle for at least five minutes with the A/C On. For some of the drive, go at least 40 mph; at some point stop the car and turn engine OFF for 10 seconds or more; then restart and continue.

9. Ensure the transmission shifts through all gears. Upon completion of the road test, turn the engine OFF, and read trouble codes with the DRB.

10. If repair code has reset, repair is not complete. Check all related Technical Service Bulletins and return to Symptom List if necessary. If another trouble code has set, return to Symptom List and follow path specified for that trouble code.

11. If there are no trouble codes, the repair was successful and is now complete.
