Release Bearing/Slave Cylinder Assembly

The Viper uses a unique internally mounted slave cylinder/release bearing assembly (Fig. 4). The concentric slave cylinder is mounted on the adapter plate of the transmission, inside the clutch housing. The cylinder consists of a hydraulic piston, cylinder housing, fluid line, bleed screw, release bearing, and return spring (Fig. 5).


OPERATION
When the clutch pedal is actuated, fluid from the master cylinder pushes the piston and release bearing forward to engage the pressure plate.
