Windows: Testing and Inspection

POWER WINDOWS
The following wiring test determines whether or not voltage is continuous through the body harness to the power window switches.

Remove switch for testing. Connect a voltmeter positive lead to Pin 4 and negative lead to Pin 3 of the switch harness connector. Turn ignition switch to the ON position. Voltmeter should read battery voltage. If OK, go to Window Switch Diagnosis and Testing. If not OK, check the 30 amp circuit breaker in the fuse block or for a broken wire. Refer to the appropriate wiring information. The wiring information includes wiring diagrams, proper wire and connector repair procedures, details of wire harness routing and retention, connector pin-out information and location views for the various wire harness connectors, splices and grounds.
