DISCUSSION:

All factory installed equipment, such as a sunroof, meet the upper interior head protection requirements of FMVSS 201. Sunroofs or other equipment installed in new vehicles by dealerships or for dealerships must also meet the requirements of FMVSS 201.

DEALERS INSTALLING OR HAVING INSTALLED EQUIPMENT NOT MEETING FMVSS 201 STANDARDS ON NEW VEHICLES MAY BE ASSUMING LIABILITY FOR HEAD IMPACT INJURIES IN THAT AREA.
