Programming and Relearning
STANDARD PROCEDURE - REMOTE KEYLESS ENTRY TRANSMITTER PROGRAMMINGWithout Vehicle Theft Security System
16-Way Data Link Connector - Typical:
1. Locate the dark green program enable wire connected to the terminal in cavity 1 of the 16-way data link connector under the left side of the instrument panel.
2. Connect the program enable wire terminal to a good ground.
3. Insert the key into the ignition lock cylinder and turn the ignition switch to the ON position. The power locks will cycle (Lock, then Unlock) as feedback.
4. Depress either button on one Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter. The power locks will cycle as feedback.
5. Depress either button on the second transmitter, if used. The power locks will cycle as feedback.
6. Disconnect the program enable wire terminal from ground.
7. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position and remove the key
8. Test the operation of the programmed RKE transmitter(s).
With Vehicle Theft Security System
To program the Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) transmitter access codes into the RKE receiver of the Central Timer Module (CTM) used in vehicles equipped with the optional Vehicle Theft Security System (VTSS) requires the use of a DRB III scan tool. Refer to the appropriate diagnostic information.
