Accessory Switch Bezel






Accessory Switch Plate

REMOVAL

WARNING: ON VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH AIRBAGS, DISABLE THE AIRBAG SYSTEM BEFORE ATTEMPTING ANY STEERING WHEEL, STEERING COLUMN, OR INSTRUMENT PANEL COMPONENT DIAGNOSIS OR SERVICE. DISCONNECT AND ISOLATE THE BATTERY NEGATIVE (GROUND) CABLE, THEN WAIT TWO MINUTES FOR THE AIRBAG SYSTEM CAPACITOR TO DISCHARGE BEFORE PERFORMING FURTHER DIAGNOSIS OR SERVICE. THIS IS THE ONLY SURE WAY TO DISABLE THE AIRBAG SYSTEM. FAILURE TO TAKE THE PROPER PRECAUTIONS COULD RESULT IN ACCIDENTAL AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT AND POSSIBLE PERSONAL INJURY.


1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
2. Remove the cluster bezel from the instrument panel. Instrument Cluster Bezel Replacement

3. If the vehicle is equipped with a passenger air-bag on/off switch, remove the engine cover from the passenger compartment.

4. If the vehicle is equipped with a passenger airbag on/off switch, disconnect the switch pigtail wire connectors from the instrument panel wire harness connectors on the instrument panel cross body structural support.

5. Remove the three screws that secure the accessory switch plate to the instrument panel.
6. Pull the accessory switch plate away from the instrument panel far enough to access the instrument panel wire harness connectors for the cigar lighter; the power outlet, and/or the rear blower motor switch, as the vehicle is equipped.
7. Disconnect the instrument panel wire harness connectors from the connector receptacles for the cigar lighter, the power outlet, and/or the rear blower motor switch, as the vehicle is equipped.
8. Remove the accessory switch plate from the instrument panel.

INSTALLATION


WARNING: ON VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH AIRBAGS, DISABLE THE AIRBAG SYSTEM BEFORE ATTEMPTING ANY STEERING WHEEL, STEERING COLUMN, OR INSTRUMENT PANEL COMPONENT DIAGNOSIS OR SERVICE. DISCONNECT AND ISOLATE THE BATTERY NEGATIVE (GROUND) CABLE, THEN WAIT TWO MINUTES FOR THE AIRBAG SYSTEM CAPACITOR TO DISCHARGE BEFORE PERFORMING FURTHER DIAGNOSIS OR SERVICE. THIS IS THE ONLY SURE WAY TO DISABLE THE AIRBAG SYSTEM. FAILURE TO TAKE THE PROPER PRECAUTIONS COULD RESULT IN ACCIDENTAL AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT AND POSSIBLE PERSONAL INJURY.


1. Position the accessory switch plate to the instrument panel.
2. Reconnect the instrument panel wire harness connectors to the connector receptacles for the cigar lighter, the power outlet, and/or the rear blower motor switch, as the vehicle is equipped.
3. Install and tighten the three screws that secure the accessory switch plate to the instrument panel. Tighten the screws to 2 N.m (20 in. lbs.).

4. If the vehicle is equipped with a passenger airbag on/off switch, reconnect the switch pigtail wire connectors to the instrument panel wire harness connectors on the instrument panel cross body structural support.
5. If the vehicle is equipped with a passenger airbag on/off switch, reinstall the engine cover into the passenger compartment.
6. Reinstall the cluster bezel onto the instrument panel. Instrument Cluster Bezel Replacement

7. Reconnect the battery negative cable.
