Hose - Pressure

PRESSURE HOSE





REMOVAL

1. Siphon the power steering system.
2. Raise and support the vehicle.
3. Remove the return hose (4) at the gear (2) to gain access to the pressure hose (3).
4. Remove the pressure hose (3) at the gear (2).
5. Disconnect the pressure hose from the retainer at the crossmember.
6. Disconnect the power steering pressure switch electrical connector (8) 5.71L engine only.
7. Remove the pressure hose (3) at the pump (1).
8. Remove the pressure hose from the vehicle.





INSTALLATION

1. Install the pressure hose (3) to the vehicle.
2. Reconnect the pressure hose (3) at the pump (1).
Tighten the hose to 34 Nm (25 ft. lbs.).
3. Reconnect the return hose (4) to the gear (2).
Tighten the hose to 65 Nm (48 ft. lbs.).
4. Reconnect the pressure hose (3) at the gear (2).
Tighten the hose to 38 Nm (28 ft. lbs.).
5. Connect the pressure hose (3) to the crossmember retainer.
6. Reconnect the electrical connector for the power steering pressure switch (8) 5.71L only.
7. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
8. Refill the power steering system.
