Lateral Accelerometer: Service and Repair

REMOVAL





1. Disconnect the battery
2. Remove the IP top cover (1) for access to the sensor (3).
3. Disconnect the sensor harness (4).
4. Remove the sensor mounting bolt (2) and remove the sensor (3).


INSTALLATION





CAUTION: The G-sensor (3), will not function properly if the sensor is installed incorrectly. Verify that the sensor locating arrow is pointing to the front of the vehicle.

1. Note the position of the locating arrow on the sensor (3). Position the sensor (3) so the arrow faces forward.
2. Install the sensor (3) and tighten the mounting bolt (2) to 5.6 Nm (50 in. lbs.).
3. Connect the harness (4) to the sensor (3). Be sure the harness connector (4) is firmly seated.
4. Install the IP top cover (1).
5. Reconnect the battery
