SUBJECT:
Stabilizer Bar Bushing Squawk
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves lubricating the front stabilizer bar bushings.
MODELS:
2004 (HB) Durango
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
A squawking or screeching sound may be present with suspension movement in temperatures below freezing.
DIAGNOSIS:
If customers indicate that the condition is present, perform the Repair Procedure.
PARTS REQUIRED:
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Raise the vehicle on a hoist.
2. Remove the stabilizer bar.
3. Clean the stabilizer bar next to bushings and slide the bushing inboard to clear the area where the bushings contact the stabilizer bar.
4. Apply a liberal coating if Mopar Lubricant, p/n 05019061AA, to the stabilizer bar in the area that the bushing contacts the bar.
5. Slide the bushings back into their original position and install the stabilizer bar.
