C1009 - BRAKE FLUID LEVEL LOW






For a complete wiring diagram, refer to the Wiring Information.

- When Monitored:
Continuous.

- Set Condition:
Below normal voltage detected on the brake fluid level sensor circuit.






DIAGNOSTIC TEST

1. LOW BRAKE FLUID

1. Check the brake fluid level.

Is the brake fluid full?

Yes
- Go To 2

No
- Fill the brake fluid to proper level.
- Perform ABS Verification Test-VER 1. Refer to ABS Verification Test

2. (B20) BRAKE FLUID LEVEL SWITCH SENSE CIRCUIT SHORTED TO GROUND






1. Disconnect the Anti-Lock Brake Module (ABM).
2. Disconnect the brake fluid level sensor harness connector.

NOTE: Check connector-clean/repair as necessary.

3. Measure the resistance of the brake fluid level sensor switch sense circuit at the ABS harness connector to ground.

Is the resistance below 5 ohms?

Yes
- Repair the (B20) brake fluid level switch sense circuit for a short to ground.
- Perform ABS Verification Test-VER 1. Refer to ABS Verification Test

No
- Replace the brake fluid level sensor.
- Perform ABS Verification Test-VER 1. Refer to ABS Verification Test
