SUBJECT:
Expansion Valve Hissing Sound
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves replacing the A/C expansion valve.
MODELS:
2005 (HB) Durango
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
A hissing sound coming from the heater, HVAC housing may be present when the air conditioning is running.
DIAGNOSIS:
If the condition is present, perform the repair Procedure.
PARTS REQUIRED:
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Using approved refrigerant recovery equipment and the appropriate procedures outlined on TechCONNECT, discharge and recover the refrigerant from the A/C system.
2. Remove the Expansion valve.
3. Install the new expansion valve, p/n 05061342AD.
4. Charge the system with the appropriate charge as stated on the A/C system label.
