P0699
P0699-ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION SENSOR (APPS) SUPPLY VOLTAGE TOO HIGHP0699 - Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor (APPS) Supply Voltage Too High:
WHEN MONITORED
While engine is running.
SET CONDITION
High voltage detected at the APPS supply circuit.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
- (F855) 5-Volt supply open
- (F855) 5-Volt supply short to voltage
- ECM
- Intermittent condition
Always perform the Pre-Diagnostic Troubleshooting procedure before proceeding.
1. (F855) 5-VOLT SUPPLY OPEN
Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the APPS harness connector.
NOTE: Check connectors - Clean/repair as necessary.
Ignition on, engine not running.
Measure the voltage between the (F855) APPS #1 5-volt supply circuit at the sensor connector and battery negative.
Q: Is the voltage between 4.5 and 5.5 volts?
YES: Replace the APPS. Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 1 (DIESEL). Powertrain Verification Test - Ver 1
NO: Go To 2
2. (F855) 5-VOLT SUPPLY SHORT TO VOLTAGE
Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the ECM harness connector(s).
NOTE: Check connectors - Clean/repair as necessary.
Ignition on, engine not running.
Measure the voltage between the (F855) APPS #1 5-volt supply circuit in the sensor harness connector and battery negative.
Q: Is the voltage less than 1 volt?
YES: Go To 3
NO: Repair or replace the wiring harness. Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 1 (DIESEL). Powertrain Verification Test - Ver 1
3. ECM
Turn the ignition off.
Reconnect the ECM harness connector(s).
Ignition on, engine not running.
Measure the voltage between the (F855) APPS #1 5-volt supply circuit at the sensor harness connector and battery negative.
Q: Is the voltage greater than 6 volts?
YES: Replace and program the ECM in accordance with the Service Information. Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST VER - 1 (DIESEL). Powertrain Verification Test - Ver 1
NO: Refer to the INTERMITTENT CONDITION Symptom (Diagnostic Procedure).
