APS Relay Control Circuit Open
APS RELAY CONTROL CIRCUIT OPENFor a complete wiring diagram, refer to Wiring Diagram Information.
When Monitored
Ignition on.
Set Condition
When the FCM detects an open on the Adjustable Pedals Relay Control circuit.
Possible Causes
- INTERMITTENT DTC
- ADJUSTABLE PEDAL RELAY
- ADJUSTABLE PEDAL CONTROL CIRCUIT OPEN
- ANTI-LOCK BRAKE MODULE
Diagnostic Test
1. VERIFY DTC
With the DRBIII (R) record and erase DTCs.
Turn the ignition on.
With the DRBIII (R) read DTCs.
Does the DTC reset?
Yes >> Go To 2
No >> Go To 4
2. ADJUSTABLE PEDALS RELAY OPERATION
Turn the ignition off.
Substitute the Adjustable Pedals Relay with a known good one.
Turn the ignition on.
Attempt to operate the Adjustable Pedals.
With the DRBIII (R) read DTC.
Does the DTC reset?
Yes >> Go To 3
No >> Replace the Adjustable Pedals Relay.
Perform APS VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. APS Verification Test
3. ADJUSTABLE PEDALS RELAY CONTROL CIRCUIT OPEN
Turn the ignition off.
Remove the FCM from the IPM.
Remove the Adjustable Pedals Relay.
Turn the ignition on.
Measure the resistance of the Adjustable Pedals Relay Control circuit between the Adjustable Pedals Relay Control circuit terminal and the FCM connector.
Is the resistance below 100 ohms?
Yes >> Repair the short to ground in the Adjustable Pedals Relay Control circuit.
Perform APS VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. APS Verification Test
No >> Replace the FCM in accordance with the Service Information
Perform APS VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. APS Verification Test
4. INTERMITTENT DTC
Turn the ignition off.
Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors.
Check connectors - Clean/repair as necessary.
Refer to any Technical Service Bulletins that may apply.
Were any problems found?
Yes >> Repair as necessary.
Perform APS VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. APS Verification Test
No >> Test Complete.
