B18E4-POWER LIFTGATE FRONT ZONE SWITCH CIRCUIT HIGHB18E4 - Power Liftgate Front Zone Switch Circuit High:
WHEN MONITORED
Whenever the Power Liftgate Module is awake.
SET CONDITION
When the Power Liftgate Module senses a voltage over 5.1 volts on the (G25) Liftgate Switch Sense circuit for longer than 10 seconds, this code will set.
POSSIBLE CAUSES
- (G25) Liftgate switch sense circuit short to voltage
- (G25) Liftgate switch sense circuit open
- Power liftgate module
Diagnostic Test
1. DTC PRESENT
With the scan tool, record DTC's.
Erase DTC's
Turn the ignition off, wait 10 seconds, then turn the ignition on.
Operate the liftgate several times from the overhead switch.
With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Q: Does the scan tool display B18E4-POWER LIFTGATE FRONT ZONE SWITCH CIRCUIT HIGH?
YES: Go To 2
NO: Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors for an intermittent condition. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test
2. (G25) LIFTGATE SWITCH SENSE CIRCUIT SHORT TO VOLTAGE
Disconnect the Power Liftgate Module C2 connector.
Measure the voltage between ground and the (Q25) Liftgate Switch Sense circuit.
Q: Is there any voltage present?
NO: Go To 3
YES: Repair the (G25) Liftgate Switch Sense circuit for a short to voltage. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test
3. (G25) LIFTGATE SWITCH SENSE CIRCUIT OPEN
NOTE: Graphic shows switch for vehicle without sunroof. If sunroof equipped, measure from cavity 6.
Turn the ignition off.
Disconnect the Overhead Liftgate Release Switch connector.
Measure the resistance of the (G25) Liftgate Switch Sense circuit between the Switch connector and the PLG C2 connector.
Q: Is the resistance below 5.0 ohms?
NO: Repair the (G25) Liftgate Switch Sense circuit for an open. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test
YES: Replace the Power Liftgate Module. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST - VER 1. Body Verification Test
