Knock Sensor: Service and Repair

REMOVAL




1. Release the fuel pressure.
2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
3. Remove the air cleaner assembly.
4. Remove the Intake Manifold.
5. Unlock and disconnect the electrical connector at the knock sensors.




6. Remove the bolt for the knock sensor.
7. Remove the knock sensor.

INSTALLATION




1. Install the knock sensors. Tighten to 20 N.m (176 in.lbs.).
2. Connect and lock the electrical connector at the knock sensors.




3. Install Intake Manifold.
4. Install Air Cleaner Assembly.
5. Connect the negative battery cable.
6. Use a diagnostic scan tool to pressurize the fuel system. Check for leaks.
