Removal

REMOVAL




1. Release fuel system pressure.

2. Raise and support vehicle.

3. Except FFV Fuel Systems: Drain fuel tank. This is done by removing clamp (9) and hose (7) from fuel tank fill fitting at rear of tank. Position a draining hose from an approved gasoline draining station into the open fuel tank fill fitting.

4. Disconnect electrical connector from ESIM switch (4).

5. Disconnect quick-connect fittings at front of fuel tank.

6. Disconnect quick-connect fitting (8) at rear of fuel tank.

7. Support tank with a hydraulic jack.




8. Remove two fuel tank strap bolts (2) and remove both tank support straps (3).




9. Carefully lower tank a few inches and disconnect fuel pump module electrical connector (5) at top of tank. To disconnect electrical connector: Push upward on red colored tab to unlock. Push on black colored tab while removing connector.

10. Disconnect fuel line (6) at fuel pump module fitting by pressing on tabs at side of quick-connect fitting.

11. Disconnect remaining lines from tank.

12. Continue to lower tank for removal.

13. If fuel tank is to be replaced, remove fuel pump module from tank.
