Fuel Pressure Release: Service and Repair

STANDARD PROCEDURE - FUEL SYSTEM PRESSURE RELEASE - 3.5L GAS ENGINE

NOTE: This procedure is for the 3.5L gas engine only.

1. Disconnect the fuel pump relay.
2. Start and run engine until it stalls.
3. Attempt restarting engine until it will no longer run.
4. Turn ignition key to OFF position.
5. Disconnect negative battery cable.
6. One or more Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC's) may have been stored in PCM memory. The scan tool must be used to erase a DTC.
