Installation






INSTALLATION




1. Position the battery (2) into the battery well in front of the driver seat. Ensure that the battery positive and negative terminal posts are correctly positioned. The battery cable terminal clamps must reach the correct battery terminal post without stretching the cables.
2. Slide the battery rearward to lock it in to the rear retaining tab.
3. Install the battery holddown onto the battery and install the retaining bolt (6).
4. Connect the battery vent tube and elbow to the battery vent cover (1).
5. Connect the battery positive cable (3) terminal clamp to the battery positive terminal post. Tighten the terminal clamp pinch-bolt hex nut to 11.8 Nm (105 in. lbs.).
6. Connect the battery negative cable (5) terminal clamp to the battery negative terminal post. Tighten the terminal clamp pinch-bolt hex nut to 7.9 Nm (70 in. lbs.).




7. Position the battery access cover (2) onto the vehicle floor over the battery compartment and push the cover forward until the screw holes line up.
8. Install the battery access cover screws (1).




9. Position the front driver floor covering (1) into the vehicle.
10. Position the front door upper sill trim (2) over the floor covering and lower sill trim.
11. Install the front door upper sill trim screws (3).




12. Retrieve the isolating connector (1) from under the accelerator pedal and position it onto the grounding stud.
13. Slide the isolating connector locking tab (2) upward to secure the connector to the stud.
