Removal






REMOVAL




1. Remove the steering wheel (1).




2. Remove the clockspring (2).
3. Remove the multifunction switch.
4. Remove the air outlet cover in the center part of the instrument panel.




5. Remove the steering column opening cover (2).




6. Remove the instrument cluster (2).




7. Remove the instrument cluster cover (1).




8. Disconnect the electrical connector for the steering angle sensor from the steering column (1).
9. Disconnect the electrical connector for the electric steering adjustment from the ESL control unit (2).
10. Remove the coupler for the steering shaft from the steering gear (4).
11. Remove the screws at the bulkhead (3).
12. Remove the nuts (1&2) on the brackets of the steering column tube and remove the steering shaft (3) from the instrument panel support.
13. Remove the steering column shaft from the vehicle (3).
