Instrument Cluster With Compass And Temperature Display

NOTE: Instrument cluster with Electronic Vehicle Information Center (EVIC) shown. Instrument cluster with Temperature Display and instrument cluster with Compass Temperature Display similar.

The Compass Temperature Display functions are available on the mid level instrument cluster. The compass and temperature readout is displayed in the lower left part of the instrument cluster (30) below the fuel (1) and engine coolant temperature (3) gauges. The display shows the current ambient temperature and one of eight compass readings identifying which direction the vehicle is facing. Pressing and holding the instrument cluster pushbutton (29) allows setting of the variance zone and manual calibration of the compass.

The display in the lower right part of the instrument cluster (26) below the tachometer (23) shows the vehicle odometer related functions. These functions include Trip Odometer (ODO), Trip A and Trip B readouts. The instrument cluster pushbutton (29) can be used to scroll through the different odometer functions. Description for additional information on the instrument cluster and related functions.

The Compass Temperature Display system is comprised of several different components. Those components are:

- Instrument Cluster (sometimes referred to as Cab Compartment Node)
- Ambient Temperature Sensor
- Remote Compass Module (RCM)
- Controller Area Network (CAN) Data Bus
- Local Interface Network (LIN) Data Bus
- Totally Integrated Power Module

The compass temperature display and the instrument cluster button are part of the Instrument Cluster assembly and cannot be serviced as separate components. If the display or button are inoperative the complete Instrument Cluster assembly must be replaced, Instrument Cluster - Removal.
