B1480
B1480-CHANNEL 7 AUDIO SPEAKER OUTPUT CIRCUIT HIGH
For a complete wiring diagram, refer to the Wiring Information. Electrical Diagrams
NOTE: On the LX/LC vehicles there are four variations of the Subwoofer Speaker systems. The output circuits from the radio amplifier, X300 and X390, go to a Subwoofer Speaker on two of the versions and on the other two they go to a Subwoofer Amplifier.
- When Monitored:
With the ignition on.
- Set Condition:
The Amplifier detects a short to battery condition on the output circuit.
1. CHECK FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION
1. Turn the ignition on, engine not running.
2. With the scan tool, read the active DTCs.
Does the scan tool display: B1480-CHANNEL 7 AUDIO SPEAKER OUTPUT CIRCUIT HIGH?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Test complete, the condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals and correct pin tension.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
2. CHECK FOR VOLTAGE ON THE (X300) AMPLIFIED SUBWOOFER SPEAKER 1 (+) CIRCUIT
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the Radio Amplifier C2 harness connector.
3. Disconnect the Subwoofer Speaker or Subwoofer Amplifier harness connector.
NOTE: The graphic shows the various Subwoofer Speaker and Subwoofer Amplifier connectors that are used for the various systems. They are shown here for reference only.
4. Turn the ignition on.
5. Measure the voltage between the (X300) Amplified Subwoofer Speaker 1 (+) circuit and ground at the Radio Amplifier connector.
Is there any voltage present?
Yes
- Repair the (X300) Amplified Subwoofer Speaker 1 (+) circuit for a short to voltage.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
No
- Go To 3
3. CHECK FOR VOLTAGE ON THE (X390) AMPLIFIED SUBWOOFER SPEAKER 1 (-) CIRCUIT
1. Measure the voltage between the (X390) Amplified Subwoofer Speaker 1 (-) circuit and ground.
Is there any voltage present?
Yes
- Repair the (X390) Amplified Subwoofer Speaker 1 (-) circuit for a short to voltage.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
No
- Replace the Radio Amplifier.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
