B234B-WIPER MOTOR HIGH SPEED CONTROL CIRCUIT HIGH

- When Monitored:
With the windshield wipers on.
- Set Condition:
The Totally Integrated Power Module (TIPM) detects a short to voltage in the wiper high/low relay coil control circuit.
1. CHECK FOR ACTIVE DTC
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. With the scan tool, clear all TIPM DTCs.
3. Turn the windshield wipers on to the HIGH setting.
4. With the scan tool, read the active DTCs.
Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Test complete, the condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. If the DTC is stored, check for an intermittent condition. Inspect the wiper high/low relay (17) for proper fit. Look for pushed out or corroded terminals at the relay socket.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
2. CHECK THE WIPER HIGH/LOW RELAY (17)
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Remove the wiper high/low relay (17) and substitute it with a known good relay.
3. Turn the ignition on.
4. With the scan tool, clear all TIPM DTCs.
5. Turn the windshield wipers on to the HIGH setting.
6. With the scan tool, read the active DTCs.
Does the scan tool display DTC: B234B-WIPER MOTOR HIGH SPEED CONTROL CIRCUIT HIGH?
Yes
- Replace the TIPM.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
No
- Replace the wiper high/low relay (17).
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
