B1035
B1035 - INFRARED TEMPERATURE SENSOR INPUT CIRCUIT HIGH
For a complete wiring diagram, refer to the Wiring Information Electrical Diagrams.
- When Monitored:
With the ignition on.
- Set Condition:
The Electronic Overhead Module (EOM) detects an open condition on the Infrared Sensor Signal circuit.
1. TEST FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. With the scan tool, record and erase DTCs
3. Turn the ignition off, wait 10 seconds then turn the ignition on.
4. With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display: B1035 - INFRARED TEMPERATURE SENSOR INPUT CIRCUIT HIGH?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- The condition that caused this code to set is not present at this time. Using the wiring diagram as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors for an intermittent condition. Operate the system several times and recheck for active DTCs.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test
2. CHECK THE (C83) INFRARED SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE
1. Disconnect the Electronic Overhead Module (EOM) harness connector.
2. Disconnect the Infrared Temperature Sensor harness connector.
3. Measure the voltage between the (C83) Infrared Sensor Signal circuit and ground.
Is there any voltage present?
Yes
- Repair the (C83) Infrared Sensor Signal circuit for a short to voltage.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test
No
- Go To 3
3. CHECK FOR ACTIVE DTC B1035 - INFRARED TEMPERATURE SENSOR INPUT CIRCUIT HIGH, WITH JUMPER WIRE CONNECTED BETWEEN THE (C83) INFRARED SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT AND THE (Z957) GROUND CIRCUIT
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Reconnect EOM harness connector.
3. Connect a jumper wire between the (C83) Infrared Sensor Signal circuit and the (Z957) ground circuit.
4. Turn the ignition on.
5. With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display B1035: INFRARED TEMPERATURE SENSOR INPUT CIRCUIT LOW?
Yes
- Replace the Infrared Temperature Sensor.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test
No
- Go To 4
4. CHECK THE (Z957) INFRARED SENSOR GROUND CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect EOM harness connector.
3. Measure the resistance of the (Z957) Infrared Sensor Ground circuit between the Infrared Temperature Sensor harness connector and ground.
Is the resistance above 5.0 ohms?
Yes
- Repair the (Z957) Infrared Sensor Ground circuit for an open.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test
No
- Go To 5
5. CHECK THE (C83) INFRARED SENSOR SIGNAL CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN
1. Measure the resistance of the (C83) Infrared Sensor Signal circuit between the Electronic Overhead Module (EOM) harness connector and the Infrared Temperature Sensor harness connector.
Is the resistance above 5.0 ohms?
Yes
- Repair the (C83) Infrared Sensor Signal circuit for an open.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test
No
- Replace the Electronic Overhead Module (EOM).
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test
