B1A09-RKE FOB 2 PERFORMANCE

For a complete wiring diagram, refer to the Wiring Information Electrical Diagrams.

Theory of Operation

When a key is inserted in the ignition switch and is turned to the Run/Start position, the Wireless Control Module (WCM) performs a self-test and re-synchronization routine. During this routine, the WCM interrogates the key, performing various validity and performance tests.

- When Monitored:
Continuously.

- Set Condition:
Scrambled messages to the Wireless Control Module from the transmitter.

NOTE: The most probable cause that sets this code is the RKE transmitter being pressed over 10 times when it is out of range of the Wireless Control Module and it loses synchronization with the rolling code of the WCM. To correct, insert the key in the ignition and turn to the ON position to synchronize the rolling code.
TEST FOR INTERMITTENT CONDITION
1. Insert the key in the ignition and turn the ignition on.
2. Using the scan tool, record and erase Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
3. Operate the RKE transmitter in all positions several times.
4. Using the scan tool, read DTCs.

Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?

Yes

- Replace the RKE transmitter and program.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

No

- The conditions that caused this code to set are not present at this time. Inform the owner of the most probable cause for this code to set, causing the RKE system to be inoperative.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
