U119A- LOST INVERTER COOLANT TEMPERATURE VOLTAGE MESSAGE - HEV

For a complete wiring diagram, refer to the Wiring Information Electrical Diagrams.

Theory of Operation

The Inverter Coolant Temperature (ICT) Sensor signal is a direct input to the Hybrid Gateway Module (HGM). The HGM sends the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) the Inverter Coolant Temperature voltage over the CAN C bus.

- When Monitored:
Ignition on.

- Set Condition:
The PCM doesn't receive the Inverter Coolant Temperature Voltage over the CAN C bus from the HGM. The circuit is continuously monitored. One trip fault.

WARNING: On vehicles equipped with the high voltage system, you must thoroughly read and follow all High Voltage Safety procedures. In addition, before performing any diagnostic or service procedure near a high voltage component, you must perform the High Voltage Power Down. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury

Always perform the Pre-Diagnostic Troubleshooting procedure before proceeding. Pre-Diagnostic Troubleshooting Procedure.

1. ACTIVE DTC
1. Ignition on, engine not running.
2. With the scan tool, select View DTCs.

Is the DTC Active at this time?

Yes

- Go To 2

No

- Perform the INTERMITTENT CONDITION diagnostic procedure. Intermittent Condition Test.

2. U0148-LOST COMMUNICATION WITH HYBRID GATEWAY MODULE ALSO ACTIVE
1. With the scan tool read DTCs.

Is the U0148-LOST COMMUNICATION WITH HYBRID GATEWAY MODULE also set?

Yes

- Follow the diagnostics for U0293-Lost Communication with Hybrid Control Module (HGM). U0293.

No

- Replace and program the Powertrain Control Module.
- Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Powertrain Verification Test.
