Cylinder Head Assembly

SURFACE VARIATION

Cylinder Head For Out-of-flatness 0.0508 mm (0.002 in.)

CYLINDER HEAD





Tighten the bolts in sequence using the following steps and torque values:
Tighten the bolts 1 through10 to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.)
Tighten the bolts 1 through 10 to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.) again.
Tighten bolts 11 through- 14 to 14 Nm (89 in. lbs.)
Rotate bolts 1 through10 an additional 90°.
Rotate bolts 1 through 10 an additional 90° again.
Tighten bolts 11 through 14 to 26 Nm (19 ft. lbs.)

HEAD BOLT REUSE/REPLACE

The cylinder head bolts are tightened using a torque plus angle procedure. The bolts must be examined BEFORE reuse. If the threads are necked down the bolts should be replaced.

INTAKE MANIFOLD

Intake Manifold Bolts 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.)

Torque from the center bolts, moving front to back in a crisscross pattern

CAMSHAFT BEARING CAP





Camshaft Bearing Cap-Bolts 11 Nm (100 in. lbs.)

CAMSHAFT PULLEY/GEAR TORQUE

Camshaft Sprocket Bolt 122 Nm (90 ft. lbs.)

EXHAUST MANIFOLD

Exhaust Manifold Bolts 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.)

Tighten all manifold bolts starting at center and working outward
