P1A0C-BATTERY ENERGY CONTROL MODULE SYSTEM VOLTAGE LOW

For a complete wiring diagram, refer to the Wiring Information Electrical Diagrams.

- When Monitored:
With the ignition on.

- Set Condition:
The Battery Pack Control Module (BPCM) detects the ignition voltage is less than 10.0 volts for 15 seconds.

1. TEST FOR INTERMITTENT CONDITION

WARNING: On vehicles equipped with the high voltage system, you must thoroughly read and follow all High Voltage Safety procedures. In addition, before performing any diagnostic or service procedure near a high voltage component, you must perform the High Voltage Power Down. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury Service Precautions

NOTE: If DTCs P0A8D and P0A8E are set, repair them first. Testing and Inspection

NOTE: Check all other modules for any ignition related DTCs. If DTCs are present, diagnose them first.

NOTE: DTCs cannot be erased with the vehicle in READY mode.

1. Turn the ignition on.
2. Using the scan tool, record and erase HCP DTCs.
3. Turn the ignition off. Wait one minute.
4. Turn the ignition on. Wait one minute.
5. Using the scan tool, read DTCs.

Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?

Yes

- Go To 2

No

- The condition that caused this code to set is not present at this time. Check for an intermittent condition by inspecting the related wiring harness for chafed, pierced, pinched, and partially broken wires. Also inspect the related connectors for broken, bent, pushed out, spread, corroded, or contaminated terminals.
- Perform the TPIM VERIFICATION TEST. Traction Power Inverter Module (TPIM) Verification Test.

2. FUSED B+ CIRCUIT
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. With a scan tool, monitor the BPCM voltage in the BPCM data display. The voltage should display between 12.0-15.5 volts.

Is the voltage between 12-15.5 volts?

Yes

- Replace the Battery Pack Control Module.
- Perform the TPIM VERIFICATION TEST. Traction Power Inverter Module (TPIM) Verification Test.

No

- If the voltage is less than 12.0 volts, test the (A503) Fused B+ circuit for an open/high resistance connection, repair if necessary. If all circuits test normal, replace the BPCM.
- Perform the TPIM VERIFICATION TEST. Traction Power Inverter Module (TPIM) Verification Test.
