Air Cleaner Body - Removal





REMOVAL - AIR CLEANER HOUSING - HEV

WARNING: On vehicles equipped with the high voltage system, you must thoroughly read and follow all High Voltage Safety procedures. In addition, before performing any diagnostic or service procedure near a high voltage component, you must perform the High Voltage Power Down. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury Service Precautions





1. Perform the HEV high voltage power down procedure Battery System - High Voltage Power Down
2. Disconnect the 12 volt battery system ground isolation connector (1) located next to the electric vacuum pump (2).





3. Disconnect the high voltage inter lock (HVIL) electrical connector (1).
4. Remove the clean air tube retaining bolt (3).
5. Remove the clean air tube (2).





6. Remove the center air cleaner housing trim cover (2) with a small screwdriver (1).





7. Disconnect the intake air temperature (IAT) sensor electrical connector (1).
8. Remove the center air cleaner housing fastener (2).

9. Slightly raise the front of the air cleaner housing (3) up off the throttle body.





10. Slide the air cleaner housing forward to remove the rear air cleaner housing pegs (2) from the grommets (1) on the rear of the intake manifold.
11. Remove the air cleaner housing from the vehicle.
