Fuel Pressure Sensor - Removal
REMOVAL - HEV
WARNING: On vehicles equipped with the high voltage system, you must thoroughly read and follow all High Voltage Safety procedures. In addition, before performing any diagnostic or service procedure near a high voltage component, you must perform the High Voltage Power Down. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury Service Precautions
1. Perform the fuel system pressure release procedure Service and Repair
2. Perform the HEV high voltage power down procedure Battery System - High Voltage Power Down
3. Disconnect the 12 volt battery system ground isolation connector (1).
4. Raise and support the vehicle.
5. Disconnect the fuel fill hose (1) at the rear of the fuel tank.
6. Disconnect the fuel fill vapor line quick-connect fitting (2).
7. Disconnect the electrical connector at the EVAP System Integrity Monitor (ESIM) switch (2).
8. Disconnect the fuel tank isolation valve electrical connector (2) at the EVAP canister mounting bracket.
9. Disconnect the fuel tank isolation valve vapor line quick-connect fitting (1) to the purge solenoid tubing connector.
10. Support the fuel tank with a suitable hydraulic jack.
11. Remove the two fuel tank support strap retaining bolts (2) and position both support straps (3) aside.
12. Carefully lower the fuel tank (1) a few inches.
13. Disconnect the fuel pressure sensor electrical connector (1).
14. Thoroughly clean the area around the fuel pressure sensor.
15. Remove the fuel pressure sensor from the fuel tank (1).
