Diagnosis Procedures For DTC U0131
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin describes the different procedures required depending on whether DTC U0131 is an active or stored code. The MIL will NOT be illuminated.
MODELS:
2009 (HB) Durango HEV
2009 (HG) Aspen HEV
NOTE:
This bulletin applies to vehicles equipped with a 5.7L Hybrid Engine (Sales Code EZE).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
The following DTC may be stored in the Hybrid Gateway Module (HGM). Further investigation by the technician may find that it is either stored or active:
U0131 - Lost Communication With Power Steering Control Module (EPS).
DISCUSSION:
This DTC may set due to communication issues between different modules. If this code is active, then follow the related diagnosis procedures available in DealerCONNECT / TechCONNECT.
If the DTC is stored, then clear the code and return the vehicle to the customer, no further action is required. The code has been set due to communication issues within the module and no repair is required.
