Hood Hinge - Installation

INSTALLATION






NOTE: This procedure may require the aid of a helper.

1. If necessary, paint the new hinge prior to installing. Let the paint dry thoroughly.
2. Place the hinge in position on vehicle.
3. Install the bolts to attach hood hinge to load beam inner. Tighten the bolts to 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs.) torque
4. Loosely install the hood to hinge bolts (1).
5. Align all marks and secure the bolts.
6. The hood should be aligned to 4 mm (0.160 in.) gap to the front fenders and flush across the top surfaces along fenders. Shims can be added or removed under hood hinge to achieve proper hood height. Adjust if necessary.
7. Tighten the hood to hinge bolts (1) to 28 Nm (20 ft. lbs.) torque.
8. Verify hood latch operation. Adjust if necessary.
