Front Axle Shafts /Differential Seal Replacement
Transmission and Transfer Case/Automatic - 62TE/SEAL, Differential/Removal

LEFT

1. Remove the Half Shaft. Drive Axles, Bearings and Joints

NOTE: Some transaxle fluid may spill when the transmission extension assembly (2) is removed.

2. Remove the axle seals by using a screw or hook style puller on a slide hammer.

Right

1. Remove the Half Shaft. Drive Axles, Bearings and Joints

NOTE: Some transaxie fluid may spill when the transmission extension assembly (2) is removed.






2. Remove the transmission extension assembly bolts (1) and remove the assembly (2).

Installation

LEFT

Special Tools: SPX Miller Special Tools C-3995-A, C-4171.

1. Clean the axle shaft seal bores.






2. Install the seal (1) using Installer Seal C-3995-A, and (2) Driver Handle Universal C-4171
3. Tap the seal into position until firmly seated against the transaxle case.
4. Install the axle shaft
5. Check transaxle fluid level and adjust as necessary. Refer to the appropriate fluid level and check procedure.

RIGHT

1. Clean the transaxle case and apply MOPAR� ATF RTV (MS-GF41).






2. Position the transmission extension assembly (2), install the bolts (1) and tighten to 12 N.m (105 in. lbs.).
3. Install axle shaft. Drive Axles, Bearings and Joints
4. Check transaxle fluid level and adjust as necessary. Fluid - A/T
