Once removed, do not attempt to disassemble or repair the support rods.

1. Open and support the liftgate with a suitable prop or block.
2. Make sure the retaining clips (1) are seated into the ball socket (2) fully.

3. Locate the ball mount (3) for mounting the strut (1) onto the vehicle.
4. Install the liftgate strut onto the vehicle by pressing into place until clip is seated fully.
5. Route the wiring harness through the access hole on body and connect the connectors (2).

7. Locate the mount (2) on the liftgate, to mount the strut.
8. Install the strut (3) onto the liftgate (1) by applying moderate hand pressure until clip is seated fully.
9. Test strut for proper operation.
