Power Brake Booster - Removal

REMOVAL





1. Remove the cowl panel cover Cowl Panel Cover - Removal.
2. Remove the fastener (3) that secures the cowl side extension (2) to the center cowl extension (1).
3. Release the tab that secures the cowl side extension (2) and remove the extension.





4. Siphon the master cylinder (1).
5. Disconnect the wire connector (2) from the fluid level sensor (3), and the vacuum sensor (4).
6. Disconnect the vacuum hose and vacuum sensor (4) from the power booster and position aside.





7. Disconnect the brake lines (4) at the master cylinder (1).
8. Remove the two master cylinder retaining nuts (3) and remove the master cylinder (1) from the booster.





9. Remove the steering column opening cover Steering Column Opening Cover - Removal.
10. Remove and discard the retainer clip (2) that holds the booster push rod (4) on the pedal pin and slide the push rod off the pin.
11. Remove the four power brake booster mounting nuts (3).
12. Remove the booster (1) from the vehicle.
