SYMPTOM/CONDITION:

The service flash corrects the following conditions:

^ Intermittent no start

^ Intermittent RKE function

The above conditions may be caused by a software lockup in the module. The lockup condition may be cleared by removing and reinserting fuse M27.

Flash reprogramming the WIN will correct these conditions.

DIAGNOSIS:

Verify that the Wireless Ignition Node is functioning as designed. If DTC's are present, record them on the repair order and repair as necessary before proceeding further.

If a customer's VIN is listed in VIP or your RRT VIN list, perform the repair. For all other customers that describe the symptom/condition, perform the Repair Procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

WARNING:**If this flash process is interrupted/aborted, Do NOT cycle the ignition. The diagnostic session requires the WIN to report the ignition position and with a failed/aborted flash the WIN can not report the ignition position. Cycling the key will result in a vehicle off road condition and Technical Advisor intervention and/or WIN replacement will be required.**

NOTE:
Install a battery charger to ensure battery voltage does not drop below 13.2 volts. Do not allow the charging voltage to climb above 13.5 volts during the flash process.

NOTE:
If this flash process is interrupted/aborted, the flash should be restarted.
