Rear Suspension Knuckle - Removal
REMOVAL
Special Tools:
1. Raise and support the vehicle Maintenance.
2. Remove the wheel.
3. Remove the park brake shoes Removal.
4. NOTE: It may be necessary to slightly move or twist the cable release tool to disengage both retaining clips.
Using Rear Park Brake Cable Remover - (2), insert the tool over the park brake cable end and press in to release the retaining clips, then pull the cable (1) out of the knuckle from the back.
5. Support the outer end of the lower control arm.
6. Remove the spring Rear Suspension Coil Spring(s) - Removal.
NOTE: Due to the taper of the lower ball joint, no special tool is needed to separate the knuckle from the control arm. When the nut is removed, the knuckle will drop off of the control arm.
7. Tilt the knuckle for access, remove the ball joint nut (1) and remove the knuckle from the control arm.
8. If necessary, remove the hub from the knuckle Rear Hub And Bearing - Removal.
