Front Crankshaft Oil Seal - Installation
INSTALLATION
Special Tools:
CAUTION: The front crankshaft seal must be installed dry. Do not apply lubricant to the sealing lip or the outer edge.
1. Using Crankshaft Front Oil Seal Installer (2) and Damper Installer (1), install the crankshaft front seal.
CAUTION: To prevent severe damage to the crankshaft, damper, and damper installer , thoroughly clean the damper bore and the crankshaft nose before installing damper.
2. Position the damper onto the crankshaft.
3. Assemble the Damper Installer (2) and the Pressing Cup (1) from A/C Hub Installer.
4. Using the Damper Installer and A/C Hub Installer , press the damper (1) onto the crankshaft.
5. Install the crankshaft damper bolt and tighten to 176 Nm (129 ft. lbs.).
6. Install the cooling fan module Cooling Fan - Installation.
7. Position the upper radiator hose and secure retainer (2) at the fan shroud.
8. Install the upper radiator hose at the thermostat housing and secure hose clamp (1).
9. Install the air cleaner resonator support bracket at the water pump.
10. Install serpentine belt (1) Serpentine Accessory Drive Belt - Installation.
11. Connect the resonator hose at the throttle body and tighten clamp (4) to 5 Nm (44 in. lbs.).
12. Install the resonator retaining bolt (3) and tighten to 5 Nm (44 in. lbs.).
13. Connect the clean air hose at the air cleaner housing and tighten clamp (2) to 5 Nm (44 in. lbs.).
14. Connect the electrical connector at the Intake Air Temperature (IAT) sensor (1).
15. Refill the cooling system Service and Repair.
16. Connect the negative battery cable.
