MP2010 Transfer Case - Removal

REMOVAL





1. Raise vehicle.
2. Remove drain plug (1) and drain fluid.
3. Reinstall drain plug and tighten to 22-28 Nm (16-21 ft.lbs.).






CAUTION: Do not allow propshafts to hang at attached end. Damage to joint can result.

4. Remove the front and rear propeller shafts.Drive Shaft - Removal
5. Support transmission with jack stand.
6. Remove rear crossmember and skid plate, if equipped.
7. Support transfer case with transmission jack and secure with chains.
8. Remove all bolts (2) attaching transfer case to transmission (1).
9. Pull transfer case and jack rearward to disengage transfer case.
10. Remove transfer case from under vehicle.
