Seat Back Recliner - Removal
REMOVAL
NOTE: The seat back frame is serviced in conjunction with recliner.
1. Remove the seat cushion side shields, Seat Cushion Side Shields - Removal.
2. Remove the armrests, Armrest - Removal.
3. Remove the seat back cover/foam and seat cushion cover/foam, Seat Back Cover - Removal , Seat Cushion Cover - Removal.
4. Fold the seat in the flat position.
5. Insert an M6 fastener (1) into the front of the seat riser just outboard of the prop rod.
6. Recline the seat back (1) to the fully open position.
7. Detach the recliner cable (1) at the recliner.
8. Using needlenose pliers or equivalent, disengage the cable retainer (2) and pull the cable assembly (3) forward.
9. Remove the two fasteners (1) securing the seat back trim (2).
10. Pull the seat back trim hiders (3) rearward to disengage.
11. Remove the two fasteners (1) securing the seat back frame trim. Pull upward on the trim to remove.
12. Fold the seat in the flat position.
13. Remove the two bolts (1, 2) that secure the reclining mechanism to the seat cushion frame on the outboard side.
14. Remove the two bolts (1, 2) that secure the reclining mechanism to the seat cushion frame on the inboard side.
15. Remove the recliner and seat back frame as an assembly.
16. Remove the seat belt buckle if servicing the inboard reclining mechanism.
