THIS SERVICE BULLETIN IS ALSO BEING RELEASED AS RAPID RESPONSE TRANSMITTAL (RRT) 11-051. ALL APPLICABLE SOLD AND UN-SOLD RRT VIN's HAVE BEEN LOADED. TO VERIFY THAT THIS RRT SERVICE ACTION IS APPLICABLE TO THE VEHICLE, USE VIP OR PERFORM A VIN SEARCH IN TECHCONNECT. ALL REPAIRS ARE REIMBURSABLE WITHIN THE PROVISIONS OF WARRANTY.

SUBJECT:
Heated Front Seat Inoperative

OVERVIEW:
This Bulletin involves rewiring the number 2 Heater Seat Module connector under the drivers seat.

MODELS:

2011 (RT) Caravan / Town and Country (Right Hand Drive only)

NOTE:
This bulletin applies to Right Hand Drive vehicles only built between January 28, 2011 (MDH 0128XX) and March 14, 2011 (MDH 0314XX).

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Some vehicles may be configured to enable the incorrect seat to heat when the Heated Seat button is depressed. The passenger seat heats when the drivers seat should be heating.

DIAGNOSIS:
If a customer's VIN is listed in VIP or your RRT VIN list, and the condition is present perform the repair.
REPAIR PROCEDURE:

1. Disconnect the battery.





2. Locate and disconnect the number 2 connector from under the drivers seat cushion located near the center front of the seat. (Fig. 1).





3. Remove tape rearward of the connector to enable the separation of the connector into two pieces (Fig. 2).





4. Separate the black portion of the connector from the white (Fig 3).

5. Extract terminals # 1 & # 2 from the black portion of the connector using a terminal tool remover (Small terminals).

NOTE:
The terminal location numbers are located on the white portion of the connector.

6. Extract terminals # 4 & # 5 from the white portion of the connector using the terminal tool remover (Larger terminals).

NOTE:
Two terminal tools will be required to remove the terminals in the white connector.

7. Insert the wires as follows:
TN/DB in cavity 1
TN/YL in cavity 2
LG/VT in cavity 4
LG/BR in cavity 5

8. Insert the black connector into the white connector and tape the wires behind the connector.

9. Push/Pull on the wires to ensure terminals are seated properly.

10. Reconnect the battery.

11. Turn vehicle on and depress the driver heated seat button to ensure the heat is working on the driver seat.
