THIS SERVICE BULLETIN IS ALSO BEING RELEASED AS RAPID RESPONSE TRANSMITTAL 10-084. ALL APPLICABLE SOLD AND UN-SOLD VIN's HAVE BEEN LOADED. HELP USING THE wiTECH DIAGNOSTIC APPLICATION FOR FLASHING AN ECU IS AVAILABLE BY SELECTING "HELP" THEN "HELP CONTENTS" AT THE TOP OF THE wiTECH DIAGNOSTIC APPLICATION WINDOW.
THE wiTECH SOFTWARE LEVEL MUST BE AT RELEASE 11.02 OR HIGHER TO PERFORM THIS PROCEDURE.

Flash: MIL Illumination
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves selectively erasing and reprogramming the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) with new software.
MODELS:
2011 (RI) Caravan/Town and Country
NOTE:
This bulletin applies to vehicle equipped with a 3.6L engine (sales code ERB) equipped with a 62TE 6 speed automatic transmission (sales code DG2) built before December 13, 2010 (MDH 1213XX).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
The customer may experience a MIL illumination. Upon further investigation the Technician may find that any of the following Diagnostic Trouble Codes have been set.
- P0344 - Camshaft Position Sensor Intermittent - Bank 1 Sensor 1
- P0349 - Camshaft Position Sensor Circuit Intermittent - Bank 2 Sensor 1
- P0369 - Camshaft Position Sensor Intermittent - Bank 1 Sensor 2
- P0394 - Bank 2 Camshaft Position Sensor 2/2 Circuit Intermittent
DIAGNOSIS:
Using a Scan Tool (wiTECH) with the appropriate Diagnostic Procedures available in TechCONNECT, verify all engine systems are functioning as designed. If DTC's other then the one listed above are present record them on the repair order and repair as necessary before proceeding further with this bulletin.

If this flash process is interrupted/aborted, the flash should be restarted.
1. Reprogram the PCM with the latest software. Follow the detailed service procedures available in DealerCONNECT/TechCONNECT, Refer To Group 8 - Electrical > Electronic Control Modules - Service Information > Module - Powertrain Control > Standard Procedures > PCM/ECM Programming - Gas. After PCM reprogramming, the following must be performed:
a. Clear any DTC's that may have been set in other modules due to reprogramming. The wiTECH application will automatically present all DTCs after the flash and allow the tech to clear them.
b. On 62TE equipped vehicles clear the Variable Line Pressure (VLP) Counters, found in the Misc Function menu for the PCM ECU.
c. Perform the Quick Learn function, found in the Misc Function menu for the TCM ECU.
2. Type the necessary information on the "Authorized Modification Label" and attach it near the VECI label.
