Service Procedure

1. Open the hood.

2. Disconnect the negative battery cable.





3. Remove and discard the two right side hood silencer pad plastic retainer clips (Figure 1).

4. Partially lower the right side of the hood silencer pad.

CAUTION:
Do not kink the hood silencer pad. Lower the repair.





5. Place the new underhood lamp into position on the underhood brace and secure it with the plastic push pin provided in the kit (Figure 2). Then snap the underhood lamp into position.





6. Connect the wiring harness provided in the kit to the new underhood lamp (Figure 3).

7. Route the wiring harness along the underhood brace and secure the wire harness push pins to the holes located on the hood brace (Figure 3).

8. Route the underhood lamp wiring harness along the hood hinge and secure the wire harness push pin to the hole in the hood hinge (Figure 3).

9. Route the wiring harness along the windshield cowl and secure the wire harness push pin to the hole in the plastic cowl cover (Figure 3).

10. Remove and discard the cowl cover push pin and install the wire harness push pin into the hole where the original push pin was removed (Figure 3).





11. Locate the underhood body harness wiring connector on the right inner fender panel. Remove and discard the filler plug in the connector (Figure 4).





12. Plug the underhood lamp wiring harness into the underhood body harness connector (Figure 5).

13. Place the hood silencer pad into position and install two new hood silencer pad plastic retainer clips.

14. Open the upper glove box door.







15. Carefully remove the glove box lamp filler plug located in the upper left corner of the glove box (Figure 6).

16. Disconnect the wiring connector from the glove box lamp filler plug and discard the filler plug.

17. Plug the new glove box light into the wiring connector that was disconnected from the glove box lamp filler plug.





18. Snap the glove box lamp into position (Figure 7).

19. Connect the negative battery cable.

20. Verify that the hood lamp operates properly.

21. Verify that the glove box lamp operates properly.

22. Close the hood.
