For a complete wiring diagram, refer to the Wiring Information.
- When Monitored:
With the ignition on.
Vehicle speed greater than 6 mph (9.6 km/h).
- Set Condition:
Blind Spot Module (BSM) does not receive messages from the Left Rear Blind Spot Sensor.
1. CHECK FOR ACTIVE DTC
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. With the scan tool, read BSM DTCs.
Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Test complete, the condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals, and correct pin tension.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
2. CHECK THE VOLTAGE OF THE (D764) AND (D765) BLIND SPOT SENSOR DATA LINK CIRCUITS
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the Left Rear Blind Spot Sensor harness connector.
3. Turn the ignition on.
4. Using a volt meter, measure the voltage across the (D764) and (D765) circuits at the Left Rear Blind Spot Sensor harness connector.
Is Bus voltage present?
Yes
- Go To 3
No
- Go To 5
3. (F921) FUSED RUN RELAY OUTPUT CIRCUIT OPEN
1. Using a volt meter, measure the voltage of the (F921) Fused Run Relay Output circuit.

No
- Repair the (F921) Fused Run Relay Output circuit for an open.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
4. (Z921) GROUND CIRCUIT OPEN
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Using an ohm meter, measure the resistance between ground and the (Z921) Ground circuit at the Left Rear Blind Spot Sensor harness connector.
Is the resistance below 100 Ohms?
Yes
- Replace the Left Rear Blind Spot Sensor. Blind Spot Sensor - Removal.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
No
- Repair the (Z921) Ground circuit for an open.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
5. CHECK THE (D764) AND (D765) BLIND SPOT SENSOR DATA LINK CIRCUITS FOR AN OPEN
1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the BSM harness connector.
3. Using an ohm meter, measure the resistance of the (D764) and (D765) circuits.
Is the resistance above 5.0 Ohms?
