Rear Hub And Bearing - Removal
REMOVAL
Special Tools:
NOTE: A bearing can only be removed from the knuckle one time without replacing the knuckle. If a bearing is being removed for the second time, the knuckle must be replaced.
1. Raise and support the vehicle Maintenance.
2. Remove the knuckle Rear Suspension Knuckle - Removal.
NOTE: Make sure the spacer blocks or supports (4) below the knuckle/hub raise the assembly enough for clearance to remove the hub.
3. Press the hub from the knuckle (1) using Differential End Plug (2) and Hub/Knuckle Support Plate (3).
4. Remove the retaining ring (2) from the knuckle (1).
5. Press the bearing from the knuckle (1) using Receiver Cup (2) and Hub/Knuckle Support Installer/Remover (3).
6. If the hub is to be reused, remove the inner bearing race from the hub with Bearing/Gear Splitter.
