Instrument Panel - Installation

INSTALLATION

CAUTION: Do not attempt to install the instrument panel as an assembly. The instrument panel cover/pad must be installed separately.

NOTE: LHD model shown in illustrations. RHD model similar.





1. If removed, attach the ductwork to the I/P structure (1).
2. With the help of an assistant, lift the I/P structure (1) and upper HVAC ductwork up and forward to position.





3. Install the two bolts (1) to each end of the instrument panel. Tighten the bolts to 21 Nm (15 ft. lbs.). Repeat for the opposite side.





4. Install the two fence bolts (2) securing the upper brackets (1) near the windshield. Tighten the bolts securely.





5. Install the fastener (1) securing the I/P structure to the center floor bracket. Tighten the fasteners to 21 Nm (15 ft. lbs.). Repeat on the opposite side.





6. Install the fastener (1) securing the duct to the HVAC housing near the center bezel area on the RH side. Tighten the fastener securely.





7. Install the fastener (1) securing the duct to the HVAC housing near the center bezel area on the LH side. Tighten the fastener securely.





8. Install the fastener (1) securing the outboard HVAC duct to the I/P structure/support.





9. Install the I/P structure to HVAC housing bolts (1) located in the center of the structure. Tighten the bolts securely.





10. Install the I/P structure to HVAC housing bolt (1) located on the left side of the HVAC housing. Tighten the bolt securely.





11. Install the I/P structure to HVAC housing bolt (1) located on the right side of the HVAC housing. tighten the bolt securely.





12. Connect the harness (2) to the HVAC housing actuator.
13. Attach the harness retainer from the I/P structure.





14. Connect the harness (1) to the HVAC housing power module.





15. Attach the harness (1) from the HVAC housing.





16. Connect the harness (1) from the HVAC housing blower motor.





17. Connect the harness (1) to the HVAC housing actuator.





18. Connect the harness (1) to the body control module located on the lower passenger side.





19. Connect the harness (1) to the occupant restraint controller, Occupant Restraint Controller - Installation.





20. Connect the vehicle harnesses (1, 2) located on the driver side of the vehicle.
21. Install the instrument panel cover/pad, Instrument Panel Pad - Installation.
