Trailer Towing Extended Mirror

TRAILER TOWING EXTENDED

NOTE: The optional extended arm (trailer towing) mirrors equipped with mirror lamps have two Light Emitting Diode (LED) lamp units: A signal lamp (1) located on the mirror head, and a puddle lamp (2) located on the underside of the fixed (door) half of the mirror arm.

PUDDLE LAMP

1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
2. Using a small flat-bladed screw driver (3), carefully pry between the outboard side of the puddle lamp lens (2) and the underside of the fixed (door) half of the mirror arm (1) to unsnap the lamp from the arm.

3. Disengage the two hooks (4) on the inboard side of the puddle lamp (1) from the inboard side of the lamp opening in the mirror arm.
4. Pull the lamp away from the mirror arm far enough to access and disconnect the two mirror wire harness connectors (2) from the two terminals of the puddle lamp.
5. Remove the puddle lamp from the mirror.

SIGNAL LAMP

1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
2. If it isn't already so, move the mirror head to the horizontal position (3).
3. Remove the convex mirror glass and case (2) from the mirror housing, leaving the flat mirror glass and case (1) undisturbed. Outside Rearview Mirror - Removal.

4. Disconnect the mirror wire harness connector (3) from the signal lamp (1) connector receptacle.
5. Remove the screw (4) that secures the lamp to the mirror housing (2).
6. Separate and remove the signal lamp from the outside of the mirror housing. It may be necessary on some vehicles to gently pry between the lamp lens and the mirror housing to release the adhesive-backed foam weather seal that seals the lamp to the mirror housing.
