BW 44-45 Transfer Case - Fluid Drain And Refill

FLUID DRAIN AND REFILL





The fill (2) and drain (1) plugs are both in the rear case.

1. Raise the vehicle.
2. Position a drain pan under the transfer case.
3. Remove the drain and fill plugs and completely drain the lubricant.
4. Install the drain plug (1). Tighten plug to 19 - 30 Nm (15 - 22 ft. lbs.).
5. Remove the drain pan.
6. Fill the transfer case to the bottom edge of the fill plug opening with the correct fluid for the application. .
7. Install and tighten the fill plug (2) to 19 - 30 Nm (15 - 22 ft. lbs.).
8. Wipe any excess fluid that may have spilled onto the exhaust.
9. Lower the vehicle.
