Emissions - Environmental Performance Label Missing

SUBJECT:
Environmental Performance Label Missing From Vehicle

OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves installing the vehicles Environmental Performance Label.

MODELS:

2012 (DS) Ram 1500

NOTE:
This bulletin applies to Ram 1500 vehicles built with California Emissions(Sales Code NAE) and/or 50 State Emissions (Sales Code NAS) sold in states that require the vehicle to meet California Emissions
compliance.

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Some vehicles equipped with California Emissions (Sales Code NAE) and/or 50 State Emissions (Sales Code NAS) were built without the required Environmental Performance label. In order for the vehicle to be in compliance with California Emission requirements, the vehicle must have the label attached to the right rear window.

DIAGNOSIS:
If a customers VIN is listed in VIP or your RRT VIN list, perform the repair.

PARTS REQUIRED:
The Environmental Performance label is printed specifically for each unique Vehicle Identification Number (VIN). Dealers that were shipped suspect vehicles will have corresponding Environmental Performance labels shipped directly to your dealers Service Manager. The label will have the VIN printed on the lower left hand corner. Please make sure that the correct label is installed on the correct vehicle.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

1. Ensure that the right rear window is rolled all the way up.

2. Peel off the top and bottom strips from the backing paper exposing the adhesive. Do not peel the label from the backing paper.

3. Open the right rear door.





4. Apply the label to the right rear door glass as shown in (Fig. 1).

5. Pressurize the adhesive by pressing or wiping motion with palm of the hand at the top and bottom surface of the label.

6. Close the door.
